Motorolla had previously announced that they were updating their Moto G and Moto X budget smartphones. We of course expected, not just and update, but major changes on models that hit the market due to their cool features and most of all affordability. With the recent announcement, the excitement was written all over especially when it was announced that the new Moto would sport various new additions. Here is a closer look at what the new Moto X has to offer.
Although the design has been borrowed heavily from the previous version of the Moto X, the new model is completely different. On a closer look, you get that Motorolla managed some tweaks on this phone’s designs and there are even major changes on its specs list. The previous model had a screen resolution of 720p which is pretty lower compared to the 1080p HD version of the new Moto X. The size has been increased to 5.2 inches to counter the increasing demand for big-screen phones. This is also perfect for any Moto X games enthusiast.
Remember the plastic edges of the older version? Well, they have been replaced with aluminum. The previous model had a 10 MP camera that had 1080p video support but the new model comes with a 13 MP camera that supports a 4K video. This is outpaces the iPhone 6’s 8 megapixel camera that cannot support true 4K video (check our image post on iPhone 6 specs here for more details). There is also an intelligent new software that allows a user to take multiple photos, compares them and then chooses the best. You can override this decision at will.
The phone features a 2.5 GHz quadcore processor by Snapdragon which powers multiple applications making them run seamlessly.
For those who would love a custom-designed Motorolla phone, the options are now improved. You can choose from different color options for the power button and volume rocker depending on your requirements. For those who loved the cool wood design on the older Moto X, do not worry, it has been retained and in addition, new leather options have been added.
