All Sony Xperia Zs Finally Get a Firmware Upgrade to Lollipop

The good thing about using top-notch smartphones is you will get software updates as they trickle in. Most Samsung, Sony and Huawei users can identify with this. Tecno, Wico and other Android brand users rarely relish this freedom unless they turn to using custom ROMs on their phones.

In this spirit, T-Mobile is testing Android Lollipop (5.0) updates for Sony Xperia Z3 and Sony Xperia Z1s. Since T-Mobile is the only carrier without the firmware update on its Z3 and Z1, their implementation will complete Sony’s elite smartphone move to the latest Android version.

Older devices can still get the update

Old model users can still get the upgrade for their devices. Using your software upgrade option on the settings menu will enable your phone to bridge the Kit-Kat lollipop gap, moving you from build 10.5 to 10.6. According to the Xperia blog, once the update rolls out, it will work on all old Xperia Z series phones, from the Z, the ZL, ZR and the Tablet Z.
